Information Finnish-born Elina Kallio began illustrating at the creative age of 10. At primary school she drew page after page on her notebooks and enjoyed visual arts classes the most.After high school, however, she went to study economics in Finland's leading business school Helsinki School of Economics and graduated with a Master of Science in Economics degree. She did a minor subject in Academy of Fine Arts studying painting and rediscovered her passion for illustration. This encouraged Elina to apply to one of the world's leading illustration BA courses at the University College Falmouth, from which she graduated in summer 2008 with honours. Nowadays Elina is based in London and works as a professional illustrator. She loves combining surrealism and realism in her work and playing with colours and textures. Elina's work enjoys strong compositions, detailed patterns and innovative elements. She combines traditional collage with digital media. |
